ORANGE SHOW CENTER FOR VISIONARY ART

Vision
Encouraging creative self-expression.

Mission Statement
The Center preserves, promotes and documents visionary art environments, provides opportunities for the expression of personal artistic vision and creates a community where that expression is valued.

Programs
Stewardship We care for two of the most important American visionary art environments. The Orange Show is maintained as a living work of art, the site of vibrant programs to help new audiences experience this work of art. Conservation and programming of the Beer Can House is being developed.

Education
Award-winning EYEOPENER tours share visionary art and community treasures with thousands each year. Tours are based on documentation and research housed in the largest visionary art archive in the southwest.

Children experience the basic elements of art – color, line, texture and color -- at The Orange Show each year. Artist-led hands-on workshops, community murals and other art projects give children, with special emphasis on at-risk youth, real experience making art, friends and building community.

Outreach
Art Car Weekend draws 250,000 spectators to view hundreds of mobile works of art made by great artists, mechanics, school kids, stockbrokers and all kinds of people. It attracts visitors and media attention from around the globe and launched dozens of similar events around the country.
